This privacy policy sets out how Nutritionhelp uses and protects any information that you give Nutritionhelp when you use this website and Nutritionhelp services.

Nutritionhelp is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Nutritionhelp may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 1st March 2018.


What we collect (Data Held)

We may collect the following information:

  • Demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • Weight and health symptoms
  • Diagnosed conditions
  • Prescribed and over-the-counter medications currently used


What we do with the information we gather (Lawful Basis for Data)

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a nutritionally supportive service.

  • Providing relevant nutritional recommendations
  • Internal record keeping.
  • Address, email and phone details may occasionally be given to a third party (such as laboratories or supplement companies) with your consent, for the purpose of ordering on your behalf (e.g. lab tests and nutritional supplements).
  • We will NEVER send promotional emails.
  • We will NEVER use your information to contact you for market research purposes.


Length of time holding your information (Retention Period of Data)

  • The Nutritional Therapy governing body BANT (British Association for Applied Nutrition & Nutritional Therapy) stipulates that client information should be held for a minimum of 8 years from the date of the last visit. This is in line with the requirement for general NHS records.
  • Holding data for this period of time ensures good practice on the part of the Nutritional Therapist.
  • For a child the records are kept until his or her 25th birthday, or 26th birthday if the client was 17 at the conclusion of the therapy.
  • Information that is no longer required will be safely deleted electronically or shredded if information is on a paper copy.


Security of Data

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and securing the information we collect online, through emails, email attachments and paper documents.

Sensitive information sent by email to you will be as a password-protected document.
